The carafe features high quality unbreakable stainless steel interior and exterior, and in addition, boasts a DuPont Teflon lined interior for eeasier cleaning, and a more hygenic environment. This is one of the few thermal carafes on the market that are certified by NSF - National Sanitation Foundation - to be used in the food service industries, ensuring a healthy, hygenic atmosphere.
The top lid acts as a cover to prevent accidental contamination, which easily flips up with the press of your thumb, and exposes the interior cover - spout mechanism. The interior lid mechansim has a solid push-in-place type lid, with a rugged O-ring for years of service, although the design is not intended to be leak-proof in a horizontal position.
This unit intended for cold beverages only, and is not meant to house hot beverages.
