The Zassenhaus 169DG La Paz Model is the mother of all Mills. Rugged construction, large capacity bean chamber, and sturdy design for easy grinding. The frame and bowl of the unit are made from cast aluminum alloy, not cast iron... as weve seen many others that are not so familiar with the units claiming. Nevertheless, its one beafy unit!
All of the Zassenhaus Coffee Mills have the same functionality as the next, fully adjustable grind, from coarse to Turkish fine grind. They work similarly to that of a pepper mill. Just rotate the thumb nut to get the grind you need. The thumb nut can be screwed down so that the top and bottom conical burrs mesh together for a fine Turkish grind coffee if desired. The burrs are machined from high carbon steel, and hardened for years of service. Zassenhaus mills do indeed demonstrate the high quality of German craftsmanship.
Hand crank mills are most appreciated during camping trips, and power outages, or anywhere that lacks electricity. Zassennaus mills provide a consistent grind, which is necessary for a great cup of coffee.
Since 1867, Zassenhaus has been producing precision non-electric hand crank coffee mills of all types. We think by now, theyve figured it out! These German crafted mills are manufactured in the heart of the Bergischesland of NordRhein-Westfalen in the city of Solingen, world renowed for their high quailty steel production, and the manufacturing of fine swords, knives, scissors and razors. Milling excellence is important to them, just as important as their taste for a great Schwelmer Altbier! These mills are immaculately crafted to provide years of milling service. Youll find cheap oriental imports, sure... but nothing like these mills.
