Free ground shipping, plus a Free Home Coffee Roasting Book by Kenneth Davids, or a Free 3lb Bald Mountain Coffee Sampler of your choice! As seen in This is the latest I-Roast 2 model available, we no longer carry the less expensive IRoast model, as it is has been discontinued by the manufacturer, and is currently obsolete. The new Hearthware I-Roast 2 now features 10 programmable roast curves that can be saved, recalled, and deleted! Each curve now has 5 stages of programmability, as opposed to 3 stages with the I-Roast Classic. This should help to improve the roast consistency, and allow for a more customized roast. As with the I-Roast Classic, we offer the New I-Roast II with YOUR choice of a full 5lb Bald Mountain Regional Green Coffee Sampler, at a steep discount. The samplers include 5 lbs total - 1 lb each of the coffees from the region you select when adding the roaster to your cart. All coffees in our Bald Mountain Green Samplers are fine Arabicas and are typical to the regions they represent. The new I-Roast 2 has a few design changes from the original I-Roast, including tighter locking system between the roasting pot and the base, chaff collector base and the roasting pot, and the chaff collector base and chaff collector lid. The chaff collector screen has a tighter fit inside the chaff collector base so there will be less movement and less chaff passing through. The preset 1, unlike the Hearthware I-Roast Classic, did not move through its roasting stages as expected. As it turns out, For Preset 2, use the recommended amount as usual. The nicest thing weve seen in the I-Roast II is its ability to store roasting curves. The curves can be re-programmed, saved, deleted, and recalled at will, and it does not lose the curves, even after unplugging the unit! A very nice feature indeed. Features that were not not updated in the I-Roast II owners manual:: There are a few differences in the I-Roast 2 that are not mentioned in the owners manual. In the I-Roast 2, Preset 1 is set at 450 F for 10 minutes and was made to mimic Hearthwares Precision Coffee Roaster characteristics. The Precision was Hearthwares first Coffee Roaster unit, and was a very popular model, both in its design, its price, and its roast profile. The Preset 1 now takes its time with a gradual increase in tempertaure over a longer period of time, then finshes off with a fairly high constant 450 degree target temperature. Hearthware has recommended using half the amount of beans when using Preset 1. You may also increase, or decrease roast time by pushing the arrow key up or down. The chaff collector on the I-Roast 2 has some slight adjustments that allow the hot air to escape faster from the unit, which in turn, changes roast profiles. You may find that your roast curves need to be programmed a little hotter than the original I-Roast due to this fact. Whether you are a home coffee roaster looking for a starter roaster, or you prefer a larger capacity roaster, we have one to fit your need! Hot Air type Home Coffee Roasters are fairly new to the home roasting scene, and produce very good results. The Beans are circulated in a whirl-wind of hot air, which gives the Beans no other choice other than to... well, start roasting. Capacities of Hot Air type home roasters and roast times vary greatly from one unit to the next. From the fully programmable Hearthware I-Roast 2, to the more simple timer type roasters, whichever you choose, were sure youll enjoy the results. These home coffee roaster units have been tested, and produce excellent roasted Coffees. | |
