As seen in
This is the latest I-Roast 2 model available, we no longer carry the less expensive IRoast model, as it is has been discontinued by the manufacturer, and is currently obsolete.
The new Hearthware I-Roast 2 now features 10 programmable roast curves that can be saved, recalled, and deleted! Each curve now has 5 stages of programmability, as opposed to 3 stages with the I-Roast Classic. This should help to improve the roast consistency, and allow for a more customized roast. The new I-Roast 2 has a few design changes from the original I-Roast, including tighter locking system between the roasting pot and the base, chaff collector base and the roasting pot, and the chaff collector base and chaff collector lid. The chaff collector screen has a tighter fit inside the chaff collector base so there will be less movement and less chaff passing through.
Preset 1 and 2 roast profiles have been changed on the newer units, and were redesigned to allow roast profiles for beans that create little and more chaff. Preset 1 is for beans that have more chaff such as Central and South American. Preset 2 is for beans that have medium to light chaff such as Arabic, African, Indonesian and decaffeinated.
Preset 1:
4 minutes and 30 seconds, Temp: 375 F
1 minute and 45 seconds, Temp: 420 F
1 minute and 0 seconds, Temp: 400 F
3 minutes and 30 seconds, Temp: 335 F
1 minute and 0 seconds, Temp: 385 F
Preset 2:
4 minutes and 30 seconds, Temp: 385 F
2 minutes and 20 seconds, Temp: 425 F
1 minute and 0 seconds, Temp: 405 F
3 minutes and 30 seconds, Temp: 345 F
1 minute and 0 seconds, Temp 400 F
The nicest thing weve seen in the I-Roast II is its ability to store roasting curves. The curves can be re-programmed, saved, deleted, and recalled at will, and it does not lose the curves, even after unplugging the unit! A very nice feature indeed.
