 Pour Over Coffee Brewers

The Pour over method of coffee brewing remains the most widely used method, and provides a simple and efficient way to brew a great cup, without the hassles associated with some other methods of coffee brewing. Although the most primitive way of pour over brewing is the manual method, it can often be used with the right parameters to produce an outstanding cup! The pourover coffee brewing method is simple, where the ground coffee is dosed into a permanent or paper filter, then water at an optimal temperature - heated to ~201 degress Fahrenheit - is poured over the grounds, and through the filter, and into your coffee vessel. The temperature of the water during a brew is critical, to ensure the coffee aromas and oils are properly extracted, without over extracting the bitter proteins and solids that are contained within the bean. Another critical factor in a good cup is to ensure the proper amount of time water is in contact with your coffee grounds, also to make sure the bitter proteins dont get extracted. An optimally designed electric brewer should have all of these factors narrowed down into an automatic cycle that always ensures the proper temperature, and flow rates to achieve the optimal extraction. Manual pour over brewers are more a bit of an art, that with a little practice can produce great results, at usually much less cost, although less convenient than electric brewers.

Technivorm manufactures home coffee brewers in two basic categories, units that incorporate a thermal carafe for keeping your brew hot for an extended period of time, and units without a thermal carafe, but with a separate heating element to keep your brew piping hot! We recommend you choose a unit that fits your needs, so if you have the need to keep your brew hot longer, without the over-cooked taste of a pot that has sat on a burner for a long time, we recommend a unit with a thermal carafe. If you go through your pot fairly quickly, as in a busy office environment, the need for a unit with a thermal carafe may be over-kill. All Technivorm coffee maker units incorporate a heavy duty extruded aluminum body, and solid copper heating element, there are no internal components made from aluminum that come in contact with the your brew! Technivorm builds their coffee brewers to withstand years of continual service, while also keeping in mind the need for using durable, safe, human friendly materials in their manufacturing processes. Technivorm units are all made with easily removable parts for proper cleaning and maintenance. When brewing a great cup of coffee, its important that the water is at an optimal temperature of 200F before introducing the water to the coffee grounds, which ensures proper extraction. All Technivorm units, by design, are one of the few brewers on the market that reach the correct water temperatures during your brewing process. Technivorm coffee brewers are designed to move the proper amount of water - 40 ounces - in the correct amount of time - 5 minutes, for optimal coffee brewing.
